The Part about Doing Guard Duty

090711JAN2005ZT

here i am doing guard duty at the base. what what does my duty comprise of? can't tell ya much though sorry...but its pretty mundane and if you realise, i;m typing this blog while on duty...yeah its a very BORING one as well and SUPER relaxed one....

just bumming around till i wake up tomorrow morning, to perform 3 aircraft servicing and just waiting for the shift to relieve us.

but oh well, i did some constructive work. in the office-i researched for my 2nd assignment (honest!!!) and then pilots came in to pre-flight one of the aircraft and back to the books again. i'm in the ground crew's crewroom while i'm typing this and in case ur wondering, pilots, air crew & ground crew's crewrooms and 'accomdations' are totally different. pilot's and air crew's lounges are hotel standard compared to the groundcrew's crewroom. big difference...and this crew room is shared by 80 plus regulars and NSF. more if you add in the NSmen...oh well and thus you can see the mess 'we' make...

so, as i've said i'll be stuck here till morning, till the shift comes in at 1000 hours. after that the guard crew will get the day off and report back to work on tuesday. for me, i've got to do some admin stuff woth my er...SJAB kids (the ones in CTSS). lotsa planning to do and obstacles to crush...groundwork to be laid, etc...its another year of the same vicious cycle...
