The Part about Prometheus

oh yeah, just to answer some of my friends/kids (CTSS)/kids (OPSCOM)'s question as to WHAT THE HECK IS PROMETHEUS....

Prometheus is a Greek name (not GEEK AHH!!!) that means 'forethought'. Prometheus was a Titan (a race of ancient beings who predated the Olympian gods. ie the older generation of gods) who stole tje gift of fire from Olympus (the God Zeus) and gave it to humankind

For which Zeus punished him horribly by chaining him onto the rocks and allowing an eagle to tear up his sotmach and intestines. As Prometheus was in a demi-god (although a more ancient one) he was immortal and therefore had to live the following days in pain and releiving it as he grew another stomach & intestine everyday. He was the son of Iapetus; brother of Atlas (the Titan who held up the sky) and Epimetheus ("Afterthought).

and what does this show? Prometheus being an elder (ie more senior) was kena tekan by Zeues, a junior god (his nephew..) but crowned King. no big no small ahh this Zeus... *tsk tsk tsk*

Prometheus asa nick stuck with me since young (Age 7 i think) when i came across the nick. I did not know about the story of Prometheus or what it means in Greek. It was kinda 'cheem' sounding and had a nice ring to it.
