Parte Umpat: My studies, current ones of course

so...am back again after posting the 1st 3 on sunday nite, another one last nite and the final intro entry before i go ape crazy with all my non-sensical entries...

right about my studies. some ppl lhave actually asked "ehh..i tot u in NS, how come can go and study on har...?"

well to quell all excess thought for ppl who are just pondering and pondering and scratching their heads out--i will explain...

i did not defer for studies..i just gotten permission from my superiors so that i can continue my part time advance diploma while performing NS. of course i had to give assurances that my studies are not my 1st priority, the aircraft servicing I do should be ahead. and I have to highlight early to my Warrant Officer in charge about when my exams are so that he won't schedule me for the monthly Brunei Detachment...(opps i've forgotten to mention that during the last post...) As for time, we'll the nature of my work allows me such that I'm fortunate to have some time to be able to study-ie i bring my meterials to study and after work on certain days, I hit the library.

so the question boils down to, wad do i study? I'm doing a Advance Diploma (or Adv Dip as its normally called) in Maritime Business from the Australian Maritime College (AMC) which is based in Tasmania-Australia. The whole course is actually about 1 yr plus part time and I'm only doing 5 modules to obtain the AdvDip out of the 12 modules...because, due to my Dip Marine Engineering at SP, i was able to obtain about 7 or 8 exemptions (if i remember correctly) and one module if I carry on with the degree pgrm. In this AdvDip, i;ll be doing intro to services marketing, business law, financial mgmt, and 2 others... so...

hopefully, i'll get the adv dip by the time i ORD from NS plus maybe an excess of a few months. will be working part time by then. then its option time..!!!
1) find work then complete the degree pgrm
2) find part time work then in July of 2006, go to AMC and finish the remaining modules within a yr or so

doing the course on and off campus has its differences. on campus u have the usual assignments and exams...off campus like mine i have to do the same, exept that my exam is also an assignment. have to research abit and wirte a lengthly essay about it. truth is, i learn more than the usual classroom method.

honestly speaking, IT IS stressful to manage everything i'm doing now...but wad to do...gonna be the breadwinner of my family one day while my bro still studies...so still have struggle a little lah. i'm very fortunate at being given an opportunity to study so yeah, making the most out of it...
